After the recent Venezuela conflict, air travel to parts of the Caribbean was impacted. Several airports experienced delays and cancellations, and cruise lines are adjusting itineraries—particularly in the Southern Caribbean, including San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the ABC islands.
As a new Travel Advisor, I’ve been amazed watching other TAs across social media jump into action. They’re asking questions, sharing real-time updates, finding alternate routes, and leaning on advisors with firsthand experience in the region to help clients whose trips were suddenly disrupted. Most travelers never see the work happening behind the scenes—but it’s happening fast and constantly.
This is a great example of the value of using a Travel Advisor and having travel insurance. Advisors closely follow weather, international news, health advisories, airline operations, and anything else that could impact clients who are currently traveling or about to depart. When you work with a TA, you’re not just booking a trip—you’re gaining access to a network of professionals who can step in when plans change unexpectedly.
Travel disruptions are stressful, especially when you’re thousands of miles from home. Having someone in your corner means you’re not handling it alone.
And while I’d love the opportunity to help, the real message is this: use a Travel Advisor—any Travel Advisor. Most are paid by suppliers when you book through them, and some may charge a small fee. It’s a fair trade for the support, advocacy, and peace of mind you get when the unexpected happens.
